Tracks and Sessions

Many thanks to the 489 reviewers who completed 1370 reviews in July, and to the Track Chairs in assessing those to make recommendations. As a result we have 558 papers accepted and 64 recommended as a Lightning Talk.

 

What happens now?

Track Chairs and the Conference Academic Chairs will begin grouping papers into sessions, with the assistance of JT Production Management. Once all presenters have registered (deadline: 28 September) we will be able to release a draft program and then a final program.

 

Most sessions will have four papers, and last 90 minutes, hence presenters should prepare for a 15 minute presentation with around 3 minutes of questions, and then a couple of minutes to switch to the next presenter.  If everyone keeps to time, that should leave around 10 minutes of overall questions for the session at the end.

 

Lightning Talks are 60 minute sessions, and may contain up to 8 papers. Presenters have 6 minutes each (including questions) and may show at most only 6 slides. That leaves 1-2 minutes to swap between presentations. Session chairs will strictly enforce these time and slide limits.

 

The conference will also include a plenary session to start the conference on Monday morning; three ‘Meet The Editor’ sessions featuring editors from leading journals in the discipline; and 15 special sessions and Special Interest Group meetings across the program. Plus the Annual General Meeting and Welcome Reception on Monday night, and the Gala dinner on Wednesday night. All events and sessions will be held at the Cordis Hotel, so we encourage you to take up the special hotel rate and stay at the venue.

 

We will endeavour to minimise program session conflicts for presenting authors, but cannot guarantee no conflicts with special sessions and Meet The Editor sessions, or for non-presenting co-authors (particularly those named on multiple papers).

 

Please check the draft program carefully when it is published in October, and let us know via conference@anzmac.org of any conflicts that need to be resolved, and why.

 

Please note: we cannot schedule papers or sessions to suit the travel requirements of participants. You should attend for the duration of the conference.
