Conference Venue

The main ANZMAC Conference is hosted this year at the Cordis Hotel, 83 Symonds Street, Grafton, Auckland 101. 

 

The Doctoral Colloquium is hosted at Massey University/ Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa, Albany Campus, Massey University East Precinct Albany Expressway, SH17, Albany, Auckland 0632.

Getting to the ANZMAC Conference

(Cordis Hotel)

There are a number of ways that you can get to the conference from the airport. These vary in time and cost, with Ubers or taxis taking around 30 minutes at off-peak times. A bus and train journey is the cheapest, but requires transfers and takes longer. 

 

Taxi or Uber 

To get to the Cordis Hotel from Auckland airport, you can take an Uber or a taxi (approximately NZD$85- NZD$95 one way, but an Uber is usually cheaper depending on the time of day). For Uber follow signs to Ride Share.

 

SuperShuttle

Alternatively, you can book a SuperShuttle, $35 one way. This is a pre-booked ride-share service that will take you door-to-door. More information is available here. Tickets may also be purchased at the International Terminal depending on availability. The journey time for this service may depend on how many people also need to be dropped off. 

 

SkyDrive 

Finally, you are also able to take a SkyDrive bus from the airport. This bus costs NZD$20 and will drop you off at SkyCity Casino, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from the Cordis. The journey takes approximately 35 minutes. More information is available here.

 

More bus and trains options 

The cheapest way to get to get to the Cordis is via the combination of buses and trains, and will cost around $6.50, with a total travel time of 1:10 to 1:35 hours.

We have also listed some options below: 

Option 1

 

AirportLink bus – southern/eastern train – local bus to Cordis: 75 minutes including connections, $6.50 total via contactless card (Visa/Mastercard/Amex/UnionPay debit or credit cards; ApplePay, GooglePay or SamsungPay).

 

Airport Link Bus (part 1 of journey)

AirportLink Bus (AIR, bus stop A / #54173): 6 stops, 20-23 minutes 

International Terminal to Puhinui railway station (bus stop B / #32036). Departures every 10 minutes during the day.

 

Southern/Eastern train (part 2 of journey)

Puhinui to Waitematā station: Platform 1, southern or eastern lines, 34 minutes, exit Commerce St.

Local bus to Cordis (part 3 of journey)

Waitematā to Cordis Hotel:  There are many bus options up Symonds St, including: 

  • 27H (to Hillsborough) or 27W (to Waikowai) from Britomart Stop C to Whittaker Place (stop #7154), then 370m walk uphill to 83 Symonds St

  • 27T (to Three Kings) from Britomart Stop C to Grafton Bridge (stop A #7154), then 370m walk uphill to 83 Symonds St

  • 72x (to Howick) from Britomart Place (stop #1420) to Whittaker Place.

Combined fare of all three journey parts via contactless card: $6.50

Total journey time: 1:10 to 1:35 depending on connections

Getting to the Doctoral Colloquium (Massey University)

There are also a number of options to get from the airport to Massey University ranging in time and cost. 

 

Taxi or Uber 
 

To get to Massey University/ Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa from Auckland Airport, you can take an Uber (approximately NZD$95 one way).  Taxis tend to be more expensive. 

 

SuperShuttle
 

Alternatively, you can book a SuperShuttle for $84 one way. This is a pre-booked ride-share service that will take you door to door. More information is available on the SuperShuttle website

 

SkyDrive + Northern Express Bus
 

Finally, You are also able to take a SkyDrive bus from the airport to the SkyCity casino, and then transfer to an NX2 Northern Express bus from Wellesley St / Hobson St to Constellation Station or Albany Station, before another bus that links to Massey University/ Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa (there are many different bus routes that make the connection from Constellation Station or Albany Bus Station to Massey University, including the 861). The SkyCity to Massey Albany campus leg might take 43 minutes depending on connection. More bus and trains options 

 

To Massey University from Airport (total time 1:45 to 2 hours), $7.90

Follow the instructions above under Getting to the ANZMAC Conference to get to Waitemata station; then walk to Lower Albert St for NX1 to Albany Bus Station (8 stops), 28 min. There are many bus options from Albany Bus Station stop C to Massey campus (stop 4214), including 917, 83, 861.

Getting to Massey University from the Cordis
 

To Massey University from Cordis: NX2 from AUT City Campus (Wellesley St) to Albany Station, change to many bus options to Massey campus (stop 4214), including 917, 83, 861. 


Total time: approx. 1 hour, including walking and transfer time, $6.50

 

Parking at Massey University 
 

Parking is currently free with no permit required in the student parking sections.
